“ Upscale Japanese fusion fare. Our server Nate was excellent. Very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Wagu steak was over the top. ”
“ My husband and I tried Bar Ronin last week for the first time to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We are so glad we did. We started with the shishito peppers and 2 oz of wagyu to try. For drinks, I got the Empress Ricky (video) and he got the High Ball. Shout out to the server who did an extra bubble or two to get this video. For dinner, we each got the broccoli and beef with added sticky rice. We both thought this meal was one of the best meals we’ve had in Erie. The beef short ribs were so tender, and the broth tied everything together. The restaurant has a unique vibe, decorated in graffiti. We appreciated the generous spacing between tables, so you didn’t feel too close to other guests. We loved it so much that we went back to try the burgers the next day, which were also delicious. A top restaurant in Erie, for sure! ”
“ Nestled in the West Erie Plaza, Bar Ronin is a hidden gem that blends big city vibes with warm hospitality, offering an unforgettable dining experience. The skate-inspired decor adds a dynamic, urban feel, but it's the exceptional service and inventive menu that truly stand out. At the heart of Bar Ronin’s appeal is its food—a fusion of Latin and Asian flavors that elevates Erie’s culinary scene. The menu changes seasonally, ensuring fresh and creative offerings. Highlights include the **crispy fried chicken karaage** with togarashi and lime, **thick-cut pepperoni & chorizo fried buns** with wasabi ranch, and the light yet flavorful **shishito peppers** with yuzu and seven-spice togarashi. For a more indulgent bite, the **ginger-pork gyoza** with A5 wagyu fat XO is a must-try. Seafood fans will love the **shrimp ceviche on crispy fried potato** with caviar, while the **A5 Miyazaki-Gyu Japanese Wagyu**, seared on a hot stone with mustard ponzu, offers a truly decadent experience. For heartier plates, the **roasted pork belly ramen** and **crab donburi** deliver rich, satisfying flavors. Bar Ronin’s inventive cocktails perfectly complement the food, with bold, balanced drinks that cater to every palate. A personal favorite is the **Lonely Ronin**, a smooth mix of Nikka Coffey grain whiskey, Carpano Antica, Aperol, orange blossom honey, and reduced white balsamic—rich and complex with a perfect balance of sweetness and depth. Another fun one is the **Empress Rickey**, made with Empress gin, elderflower, lemon, and a citrus bubble that literally pops—both a showstopper and a delicious treat. A standout feature is Bar Ronin's late-night menu, a rarity in Erie, featuring small plates like **crispy tempura** and **yakitori skewers**, perfect for satisfying late-night cravings. With its ever-evolving fusion menu, outstanding food, inventive cocktails, and hard-to-find late-night bites, Bar Ronin is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a vibrant, one-of-a-kind culinary journey in Erie. Don’t miss this extraordinary experience! ”
“ Dining at Bar Ronin is absolutely top notch. The mixed drinks were a hit, especially Fly Me to the Moon. Definitely a well thought out menu which was very hard to choose what to indulge in! Our favorites for the evening were the spicy tuna and wild salmon and the Wagyu steak. The vibe was so cool with the graffiti on the walls down to the smoke bubbles in drinks. Service was impeccable even with my party of 18. Thank you Milan!! We will be back for sure. Fabulous job Celia!!and crew!! ”
“ Went to Bar Ronin for a delicious birthday dinner after hearing my nieces rave about it. My friend had mentioned the purpose of our dinner when she made the reservations. Every employee I had contact with wished me a happy birthday, including our server, Nate, who was a superlative and knowledgeable host. We started with the beautiful and lightly charred Shishito peppers. Yum! My Imperial Shortribs were fork tender and simply delicious, as were the accompanying blistered peppers and sweet potatoes. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her Cold-water Salmon. We topped the evening off with the to-die-for Yuzo Panacotta. ”
“ By far, THE best fine dining experience we have had in Erie, PA. We will be coming back here time and time again for future special occasions!! We ordered Crispy Black Pepper Short Ribs, Carmalized Onion Dip, Japanese Prawn Scampi, Sunumono cucumber, and a White Russian leche cake for desert. I can’t recommend this place enough! ”
“ Bar Ronin is a must go to spot, and I recommend everyone I know to visit! From the new and inventive dishes and craft cocktails to the ambience and well trained staff this place tops the charts! ”
“ The food was okay- the desserts were DELICIOUS. My husband and I loved the atmosphere and our waitress (Chloe? I feel bad that I missed her name!) was so sweet! After my husband let her know that I am deaf in one ear, she made it a point to approach our table on my hearing side so I could hear her easily! Would recommend! ”
